June Mar Fajardo refused to greet Manuel V. Pangilinan after the win against Converge. The reason shocked everyone
The incident happened on the court, right in front of the cameras. Behind it is a conflict involving Ramon Ang, an investment platform, and an attempt by the MVP Group to stop it.

On July 22, the Philippines pulled off a thrilling 128-122 win over Converge at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. June Mar Fajardo put up 10 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks in just 27 minutes of action, leading his team to victory.
To understand why Fajardo did what he did, we have to go back one month.
In June, June Mar Fajardo and Ramon Ang announced the launch of Qiro DAIX , an investment platform powered by artificial intelligence. The project took over a year to develop. Ang, the chairman of San Miguel Corporation, handled the business and technology side. Fajardo put in his own money and made one condition: that the platform must be accessible to all Filipinos.
When asked how the idea of working together came about, Ang said: "I met June Mar a few years ago at a sports event in Manila. We talked. I told him what I was working on. He listened, asked a couple of questions, and said: 'Show me real people that this has helped.' I showed him. Two weeks later, he called me and said he wanted in. But with one condition from me: that it would be for all Filipinos."
Charity game and platform launch
The official announcement was made during a charity game at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. The game was held in early June, as Fajardo was about to leave for Cebu to prepare for the PBA season.
Taking the court were former PBA stars, friends of Fajardo from San Miguel Beer and Gilas Pilipinas, and a team of 22 kids from public schools in Cebu City — all wearing the special Qiro DAIX jersey. The game drew 15,000 spectators.

Interview after the game
After the final buzzer, Fajardo and Ang went to the press conference room, where sports journalist Mico Halili from TV5 and One Sports conducted a joint interview. The conversation lasted about 20 minutes.

The reaction of Manuel V. Pangilinan
Hours after the launch of Qiro DAIX , Pangilinan posted on his X account:
Manuel V. Pangilinan @MVP_PH«The platform known as Qiro DAIX raises concerns regarding its regulatory framework. The MVP Group will push for a strict regulatory process for this type of financial instrument. It is our responsibility to protect the public from products that have not been properly evaluated.»
Ramon Ang responded from his account:
Ramon Ang @RamonSAng«40,000 users. Zero complaints. Zero irregularities. The numbers speak for themselves.»
